Nover Maglenoc’s (aka Migs) journey at Marblestone Property Group goes beyond his current role as a leasing associate. During his time at MPG, he’s become an indispensable team member.

For nearly eight years, he’s explored various roles within the company and helped the team where they needed him most. Each experience provided unique opportunities to learn and expand his skill sets.

Eventually, Migs found his niche as a leasing associate. In this role, he manages tenant applications and ensures everyone’s paperwork is for processing. From his remote role in The Philippines, he helps leasing agents on the ground in Southside Chicago have everything for their showings and lead generation for newly vacant properties.

Migs said he’s also learning graphic design, allowing him to express his creativity and significantly contribute to Marblestone’s online reputation.

Marblestone’s Magic for Migs

Migs began his career by training with a company offering virtual assistants, and when it dissolved, he started freelancing. Marblestone was Migs’ second long-term freelance company. Owners Jared Kott and Erika Rodriguez asked if he was interested in joining MPG as an employee.

“I was interviewed with Marblestone on my birthday, which I thought was good luck,” Migs said. “But it was unlike any other interview because when we opened the call, we were talking about meditation because Jared had just come back from a retreat.”

Knowing he would’ve been miserable in an office with overbearing supervisors, Migs said Marblestone stands out with its distinctive team culture. That culture allows team members like Migs the freedom and autonomy to thrive.

“I appreciate the collaborative and supportive atmosphere,” he said. “We have regular team huddles and meaningful one-on-one meetings with CEO Jared. He’s an amazing leader.”

These interactions foster genuine connections among team members and ensure that Migs and his colleagues balance their professional responsibilities and personal interests.

Beyond Marblestone’s Walls

Outside the workplace, Migs pursues his passions, particularly mountain biking and long-distance adventure travel. He admits that when he goes on leave, it’s not for rest but to push himself to discover his limits. Migs is also a Vinyasa yoga instructor in his community, teaching his students how to strengthen their bodies for functional movements (not just Instagram poses).

“By the time I’m ready for that promotion in life to become a parent, I would like to be able to plant the same seeds in my children… and have the energy to keep up with them,” Migs said. “I think as long as you keep your body moving and take care of yourself, you’ll be able to do the things you want to do much longer.”

His enthusiasm for outdoor adventures aligns seamlessly with his inspiring path to sobriety, which began in December 2018. Migs said Jared’s openness about his own sobriety helped prompt him to leave behind a life of late nights drinking and playing in a band.

Choosing sobriety brought clarity and focus to Migs’ life, significantly deepening his appreciation and love for yoga, running, and cycling. Biking, especially, holds special meaning as it honors the memory of his late grandfather, who shared and nurtured Migs’ early passion for cycling.

Motivated and supported by his colleagues at Marblestone, Migs is also exploring the possibility of documenting his travels through vlogging. He wants to share his experiences and insights, hoping to inspire others to embrace adventure, wellness, and authenticity in their own lives.

By the way, Migs said if you’re looking for the most beautiful place in the world for your next adventure, he highly recommends Palawan, Philippines

The Importance of Balance

Migs’ dedication to living authentically, facing challenges head-on, and maintaining openness to continuous learning reflects the MPG’s core values. He demonstrates that professional success and personal fulfillment are mutually enhancing and achievable when one maintains authenticity and passion.

Because he maintains a strong inner balance, he can use his calmness to settle others in distress.

“There are times I can calm a person down with words and put them in a meditative state when they’re in distress, or you can tell there are a lot of storms happening in their mind,” Migs said. “I’m very selective when I do that because I choose to spend my energy wisely.”

Migs said he learned the importance of preserving his energy from a former teacher who told him to always ensure his cup is overflowing before pouring it into another’s cup.

His story serves as an inspiration, highlighting how passion, dedication, and the supportive work environment at Marblestone can create a life full of purpose, adventure, and personal satisfaction.
