Meet Prabhat Anand

MPG is in business because client owners trust us with their investments and the returns they expect from them. That makes roles like the one Prabhat Anand holds critical to mission success.

As the finance and onboarding manager, Prabhat is often the person property owners hear from the most. He oversees the process of onboarding new properties into the MPG system and getting the property owners up to speed on the MPG Way. Once onboarded, he remits payments and provides monthly statements to owners for each of their properties

Handling All Things Finance

If someone needs a bill paid, they talk to Prabhat. If an owner has a question on their monthly statement, they talk to Prabhat. If an owner wants to sell their rental property, Prabhat helps them off board in the MPG system. Basically, anything related to money, people talk to Prabhat. That also means that he has a lot of cross-department interactions to handle queries and concerns.

“Everything related to finance, mainly, I handle here,” Prabhat said. “Like all the issues related to owners, I am the one who is the main contact for financial matters for the owners here in the company.”

Joining a Growing Organization

Once a contractor through Fiverr, Prabhat joined MPG full-time in January 2021 after Jared found his profile on the contractor platform. Fun fact: when he interviewed for the position, he spoke with Jared and Erika on his birthday… something he knew was going to be a good omen.

But he had more than luck on his side. At the time, Prabhat had six years of experience contracting for finance departments in property management companies. During that time he became an expert in using Buildium, a common property management accounting software that MPG also uses.

With his skills and work ethic, things panned out for Prabhat and so have MPG’s finances. In the last four years, Prabhat saw the company grow from ~$2M in annual revenue to ending 2024 at roughly $4.2M in revenue.

Making Remote Work Work

Like many of MPG’s team members, Prabhat does not live in Chicago. In his case, he doesn’t even live on the same continent. But he has the same work ethic as everyone else on the MPG team.

Despite the time zone differences, Prabhat has adjusted his working hours from India to match those in the United States. So, taking calls at midnight his time is NBD. He works hard to resolve issues and answer owner questions promptly.

He loves getting feedback from owners who frequently voice their appreciation for his kindness and attention to detail during interactions. For example, he recently dealt with a dumpster issue and handled tax payments for a client residing in Canada. Prabhat gave him regular updates until everything was sorted.

“I received a note from him saying, ‘You are a good man,’” Prabhat said. “Knowing that what I do in my role is working to make the clients happy… that’s the part I love most about my role.”

Working to Live, Not Make Money

Prabhat admits that before joining Marblestone, he generally focused on how much money he was making. It turned him into something of a workaholic.

Anyone who knows anything about the work culture at MPG knows there is a strong emphasis on work-life balance. Since joining the team, Prabhat has resumed many of the hobbies he’d put aside for work. He takes weekend trips with his friends, started playing cricket again, and spends more time with his family. Prabhat said he especially loves teasing his grandmother while playing Ludo with her.

“Jared is kind of a motivator, you know,” Prabhat said. “During our one-on-one conversations, he asked me questions about what I wanted to achieve in my life, what my goals were. Four years ago I was focused on money, but now I also care about my health, my family, and the people around me.”

And, two years ago he bought his own home, thanks to the motivation and direction he received during those conversations with Jared.

Continuing to Grow

Prabhat sees himself continuing to grow and learn within Marblestone. Managing a team in the finance department, he not only wants to learn more about the industry but also how to be an effective leader.

He knows that as long as he gives 100% to his team at Marblestone, they will help him in everything else. From housing, motivation, goals, and even a little investing advice.

“It’s a blessing for me to be on this team, especially at such an early age,” he said, having just turned 30. “If I had not joined Marblestone four years ago, I may be still running towards the money.”
